Get Naked on National Opt-Out Day
If you are flying on the the day before Thanksgiving, be sure to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare. In addition to being the busiest air travel day of the year, this November 24th has been named National Opt-Out Day http://www.optoutday.com/
The point is that if everyone opts out of the scanner, the TSA will be overwhelmed with the lines of passengers requiring the optional pat down, so the government will have to back off these new regulations.
The protest with result in serious delays getting through security and could cause hundreds of passengers to miss their flights. If they do, it will be hard to get seats on a later flight since most of the planes will already be flying full.
Go to the airport early and remain calm. The problem is not other passengers or individual TSA agents. The problem is with the government's decision to add yet another ridiculous hurdle for every passenger going through airport security.
There has to be a better way. I am personally concerned about the radiation and the invasion of privacy with the new scanners. My dilema is that I don't want anyone feeling me up either. A real statement might be to opt out of both the scanner and the pat down.
Instead, take all your clothes off right there in line so the screeners can see everything in person. The bravest can even bend over and spread their cheeks because that is probably the next thing they will want to search.
So, I say passengers Get Naked on Opt-Out Day
