Sometimes I meet with prospective home sellers who ultimately decide to hire a local discount broker to sell their home under the guise of saving thousands of dollars on their home sale.
In essence what this type of broker provides is access to the local Multiple Listing Service. The homeowner then does the rest: design fliers, print advertising, internet marketing, answer phone call inquires, follow up on showings, pricing, negotiating…you get the idea.
While in some cases certain homeowners can save money if they are prepared to do much of the job themselves, on average…they won’t. Because we at The leslie edwards Team are marketing and negotiating specialists, we sell our listings at 99% of the list price on average. The discounters average 94%. After their add-on fees and the 5% difference in selling price, any savings they were offering might easily vanish. If you will not save any money and you have to do much of the marketing and negotiating yourself, WHERE IS THE BENEFIT?
